What happens to someone who has never heard of Jesus Christ?

<P>

The Bible very plainly says that Jesus Christ is the only path that lead to enternal life. Eveyone who rejects the Son of God as their savior will be eternally lost. The Lord Himself said, "No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6).

Millions of people have lived and died without ever hearing of the Salvation Message, and it would seem hard to understand how they could be held accountable for an opertunity that was never provided to them. The truth is that all men are accountable because the law of God has been written on their hearts:

<P>

“For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves, in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness, and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them, on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus” (Romans 2:14-16).

<P>

People who lived apart from the law and the gospel will be judge upon what they did with the light that was present to them. There are many passages in the Bible that indicate the more we are exposed to the truth, the greater the responsibility that comes with that understanding.

<P>

Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, [there is] no transgression” (Romans 4:15).

<P>

“Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we shall incur a stricter judgment” (James 3:1).
