Are there more dates being set today than in the past?
According to author Tommy Ice, an expert on all things relating to the raptureand second coming, most of the historical cases of end time date setter took place in the 1800s. This is when you had groups like the Miller movement and the ones that later became the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Seventh Day Adventists setting one date after another.
The years following 2000 have been the slowest period for date setting in the Church's history. The lack of end time predictions could be a type of contrary indicator for the rapture's nearness. Jesus described the days before the rapture as being a time when believers would generally not be looking for him.
For ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh" (Mat 25:13)
"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come" (Mat 24:42).
